Introduction
This easy-to-search database has two components – summaries of project achievements and a virtual library of publications and extension materials from the projects. The project summary also provides a list of associated ‘outputs’ (those with pdf icon can be viewed/downloaded), with links to the downloadable summary and a final project report – the Project Completion Summary Sheet (PCSS). The virtual library gives details of publications such as journals, books and manuals, leaflets, newsletters and extension materials, training workshops, radio interviews etc. with links to relevant project profile.
The database will be particularly useful for research managers, researchers, CPP project leaders and those who use research outputs and dissemination materials. It is being expanded and updated continuously.
Over the ten years of DFID’s Renewable Natural Resources Research Strategy (1995–2005), extended for one year to 2006, the CPP has funded well over 300 operational projects dissemination activities; in any one year the CPP funds and manages approximately 70 projects. We have included in the database projects active in 2000–01 to 2005–06 (prior to 2000, material was not necessarily available in electronic format) with associated disseminations for 2002–03 to 2004–05. Project outputs for 2000–01 to 2001–02 can be seen in PCSS for each project.
